  1. Stopped working. Impossible to access my data (family photos). A disaster. Recommend buying two ordinary external USB drives and not this junk.

  2. I bought this product for use with the WD HD Media player, but they don’t work together. Why? Quite simply because this My Book World Edition ONLY HAS AN ETHERNET CONNECTION. The USB connection only allows you to connect additional drives to the world book, not the world book to your computer (or the WD HD Media player).

This basically means that your access times to your files are severly limited by your network speeds, which are painfully slow relative to USB. Maybe I should have done more research, but I was very dissappointed by the lack of connectivity.

  3. The product is performing well. I am getting the results I expected. I was able to connect three of our computers and are using it a a central library.

  4. After 8 months I’ve replaced this drive twice (Of course I lost all the data).

Tech support is very efficient sending me REFURBISHED replacement drives that die, so I WILL NEVER buy Western Digital again.

Not to happy with this drive. The soft ware is out of date and just doze not play nice with window 7. I’am able to back up my hard drive but if I would like to restore I’m just tuff out of luck. The set-up is easy but it adds like 4 or 5 diffent folders that all back up the same stuff. If you have the home premium of window 7 you can not use it to back up window using window back window back up program you need professional or higher. And the online access doze not work with window 7 ether and good luck looking for updates lol.Everytime I try to update it tells me that it will not work with my editions of windows. You would think that it window was going to put out a 36 or 64 bit of window 7 that the soft ware companys would be ready ya rite. If I would have known that this drive would not work well with my new soft ware I would have waited to buy this drive or pick one that would work better. Do not buy this itemm wait give it 6 or 7 months.
